November 18, 2024 at 8:34 pmThis movie is hands down, one of the most intense and nerve wracking films I’ve seen in a long time. From start to finish, the movie grippedme by the throat and doesn’t let go. It’s one of those films that kept me at the edge and i was constantly guessing what’s gonna happen next. Sure, it’s not perfect and there are a couple of plot holes if you look closely, but what it does right, it does really well.
The setup is simple yet genius in a world where monsters hunt by sound, a family has to live in total silence to survive. If they make a noise, they are toast. And man, does that make every single moment feel like it could be their last. You can’t help but hold your breath, waiting for something to go wrong, even during the quietest scenes. And the sound design is crazy when there is no noise, evry little creak, crunch, or breath feels amplified. It’s like you are rite dere with them, holding your own breath.
The acting is amazing all around, but Emily Blunt is fire in this one. She plays the mom and is just incredible at showing both her strength and vulnerability. Krasinski (who also directs) plays the dad and honestly, he nails the protective father role. Their chemistry is great nd it makes you care about their survival, not just because of the monsters but because you really feel for the family dynamic.
I myself thoroughly enjoyed this one. Great job
